Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women
Education holds the power to transform women’s lives, families, and whole communities. The Live Your Dream Awards provide women financial support for their families while working towards a college degree or vocational program. Recipients have the potential to receive $1,000 or more to further their education. Applications are accepted between August 1 and November 15 each year. Learn more and apply.
Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls
Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls gives high school girls the tools they need to achieve their education and career goals. Far too many girls face barriers on the pathway to achieving their dreams. Obstacles such as poverty, teen dating violence, and teen pregnancy can get in the way of a girl's ability to make her dreams a reality. Dream It, Be It equips girls to overcome their obstacles, set goals, and head towards success.
Missouri Southern State University Foundation Scholarship
Soroptimist International of Joplin offers a Foundation scholarship each semester for a woman who is currently enrolled or attending classes at Missouri Southern State University. Eligible candidates may apply for this scholarship through the university's Foundation Office.
Camp Soroptimist
Established in 1984 in partnership with the Jasper County Children’s Division, Camp Soroptimist is a week-long summer retreat providing foster children with a supportive, fun outdoor recreational experience. As one of our club's signature service projects, members actively raise funds and volunteer to create lasting summer memories for local youth in foster care.
Community Initiatives
Our club invests in local programs that uplift women, children, and families in Joplin and beyond. Our community initiatives include helping to fund the WIC voucher program at the Webb City Farmers Market to improve access to fresh food, partnering with OneJoplin to provide a series of Story Walks in Leonard Park to promote family literacy, sponsoring the Miracle League of Joplin, and more! Through targeted sponsorships, educational grants, and hands-on service, we work year-round to remove barriers and create lasting opportunity throughout our community.
